His father's name is Felipe Muñiz is a bolero guitarist and his mother is Guillermina Rivera. He is an person sociable, fun and competitive however always attached to his family in Puerto Rico. When he was little he liked the football, music, and radio, He was the best of the class, His musical career began in 1992 with the recording of a theme by Juan Gabriel in New York.

He married in 2000 with Dayanara Torres and had a big party in Las Vegas, Although they had two children joined in 2003, After two years of separation married Jennifer López in 2014.
